Beaubleu La Pièce n°2 Silver nominované na GPHG 2026

Beaubleu La Pièce n°2 Silver nominated for GPHG 2026

The French brand Beaubleu has reached another significant milestone. The La Pièce n°2 Silver model has been officially nominated for the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève 2026 (GPHG) in the Challenge category.

This is Beaubleu's second nomination for one of the world's most prestigious watchmaking awards. It is also a recognition of almost two years of collaboration between Beaubleu and the legendary Monnaie de Paris, which brought together traditional French minting with contemporary watch design in the La Pièce collection.

At Chronoforte, we are delighted to be part of the Beaubleu story and bring their watches to Slovak customers.

GPHG – "The Oscars of the Watchmaking World"

The Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève is one of the most important events in global watchmaking. Every autumn, representatives of the most prominent watch manufacturers, independent brands, experts, collectors, and personalities from the entire industry gather in Geneva.

The GPHG Foundation annually awards the most significant watchmaking creations in fifteen categories.

The Beaubleu La Pièce n°2 Silver model was nominated in the Challenge category, which is for watches with a retail price of up to 4,500 CHF. Members of the GPHG academy selected it from over 40 competing watches in this category.

For the young independent French brand, this is another significant international recognition.

Beaubleu's Second GPHG Nomination

The La Pièce n°2 Silver builds on the success of the Seconde Française model, which received a GPHG nomination two years earlier.

Beaubleu founder Nicolas Ducoudert said regarding the new nomination:

"The first nomination showed us one thing: our way of perceiving time resonates beyond our borders. This nomination confirms that we are heading in the right direction."

The second nomination within a few years also shows that Beaubleu's distinctive design language is gradually gaining its place on the international watchmaking scene.

When Watchmaking Meets the Art of Coin Minting

Behind the La Pièce collection lies an extraordinary fusion of two worlds – Beaubleu's design and the historical craft of Monnaie de Paris.

Founded in 864, Monnaie de Paris is one of the oldest continuously operating institutions of its kind. In the case of the La Pièce collection, it is also a world first – it has combined its traditional art of minting with watchmaking for the very first time.

The collection's dials are created by minting directly in the historic workshops of Hôtel de la Monnaie in the heart of Paris. Each color variant is produced in a limited edition of 888 pieces.

It is this collaboration that gives La Pièce watches a character that far exceeds mere dial decoration.

La Pièce n°2 Silver

The main feature of the La Pièce n°2 Silver model is the monobloc minted dial with a delicate radial pattern. The dial's structure plays with light and changes its character depending on the viewing angle, while the silver finish gives it a clean and contemporary look.

Another typical Beaubleu element is the unconventional solution for the seconds hand, which moves above the dial and visually emphasizes its depth and dynamism.

The 39 mm case combines polished and brushed surfaces. The crown at the three o'clock position remains deliberately discreet so that the dial itself takes center stage.

The whole is enclosed by a domed sapphire crystal and an open case back, through which the mechanical France Ebauches FE movement, manufactured in France, can be observed.

The result is a watch that combines French design, minting craftsmanship, and mechanical watchmaking in one unusual whole.

Beaubleu Heads to Geneva Again

After presenting the nominated watches to academy members and collectors in several countries, the journey of the La Pièce n°2 Silver model will culminate directly in Geneva.

The Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève 2026 awards ceremony will take place on November 7th at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva.

Whether Beaubleu will take home the award itself from the prestigious evening will not be known until November. However, the brand's second GPHG nomination is a significant achievement in itself and further confirmation of Beaubleu's growing standing in the world of independent watchmaking.

As an authorized Beaubleu dealer, Chronoforte is delighted to represent this exceptional French brand and introduce its watches to Slovak watch enthusiasts.
