The avant-garde movement that emerged in art and literature at the beginning of the 20th century represents one thing: the courage to experiment, the joy of breaking tradition and an unmistakable individuality. It is the perfect intersection of watchmaking, design and personal expression – and with the new hand-wound model “Karandash”, Alexander Shorokhoff brings this avant-garde directly to the wrist. The wearer not only shows style, but also the courage to be creative and unique.
This watch literally demands attention: the yellow, elongated hands with red tips and round cutouts almost take over the main role from all other elements. They play a leading role on the dial and at the same time perfectly match every detail around them. The green subdial at 9 o'clock becomes a colorful tool for the eccentric seconds hand, while the blue subdial opposite, with its open design, stylishly displays the date.
The yellow minute ring and recessed dial add depth to the watch, while the outer ring – adorned with the names of artists who shaped the avant-garde – is slightly raised, giving the whole the appearance of a small work of art. The hour markers with orange accents and a bold “60” are color-coordinated with the 43.5 mm stainless steel case – harmoniously crafted down to the last detail.
A look inside: the refined hand-wound movement 3105.AS can be admired through the sapphire crystal caseback. Hand-engraved, rose gold-plated, hand-polished and blued screws and wheels with a “cloud finish” decoration make every look at the movement a moment of luxury. The black calfskin strap with green decorative stitching complements the green color of the dial and perfectly completes this complex work of art.
With only 50 pieces , the “Karandash” model is intentionally different – a limited expression of creativity. Art on the wrist that attracts attention, inspires and fascinates.
